Immunology for Quants (I4Q) Seminars

I4Q Logo

This series of talks is primarily targeted at faculty, staff and students working in quantitative fields who are interested in learning more about immunology and immunology assay platforms, but all are welcome.

The lecture format will be informal, and typically consist of discussing or answering questions relating to immunology figures or whiteboard sketches of immune processes or assays.

Estefany Reyes

Title: Elucidating the role of central nervous system cells during cryptococcal meningoencephalitis

Speaker: Estefany Reyes

Date and Time: Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Noon

Estefany is a PhD candidate in Immunology in the lab of Dr. Mari Shinohara in the Department of Integrative Immunology. She completed her bachelor’s degree in biology and Spanish at Williams College in Massachusetts and worked as a Research Associate at City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles for 5 years prior to starting her doctorate at Duke. Currently, her focus lies in unraveling the involvement of central nervous system resident cells in fungal infections. She aims to embark on a post-doctoral journey focused on the immunology of infectious diseases while maintaining her dedication to teaching and increasing diversity within the field.
