Reproductive health for young adolescents in Uganda: the challenges of linking the education and health sectors

Assistant Research Professor, DGHI and Director, DGHI Evidence Lab

Baumgartner is a public health practitioner and researcher with 20 years of experience working in low- and middle-income countries to strengthen the delivery of HIV, reproductive health, maternal and child health (MCH), and mental health services. She is Director of the DGHI Evidence Lab whose mission is to conduct rigorous evaluation research in low-resource settings together with local partners to inform evidence-based programs and interventions.

Senior Technical Officer, FHI360

Plourde is a Senior Technical Officer in the Program Sciences division at FHI 360; her areas of experience include addressing the health and well-being of adolescent girls; youth sexual and reproductive health and gender; and digital health. She earned an MPH in international health from Boston University and is a DrPH Candidate at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

About the lecture
Baumgartner and Plourde will discuss past programs and on-the-ground challenges working between sectors for adolescent reproductive health.
