Structural basis for broad and potent HIV-1 neutralization

Structural basis for broad and potent HIV-1 neutralization

  • HIV/- AIDS mentor: Priyamvada Acharya (priyamvada.acharya@duke.edu), Director, Division of Structural Biology, Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI)

The Division of Structural Biology at the DHVI uses structural tools to understand the mechanism by which antibodies and drugs neutralize HIV-1. This project will involve structural solution of the HIV-1 Envelope (Env) protein in complex with antibodies or small molecules.

Special Features

  • Opportunity to learn cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography.
