2009 Matthews Lecture

 

The fifth annual Thomas J. Matthews Lecture also marks the 25th anniversary of AIDS research at Duke. 

In recognition of his valuable guidance during our initial entrée into this ‘new’ field in 1984, we are

honored to have Dr. Robert C. Gallo, Director of the Institute of Human Virology at the University of

Maryland in Baltimore, as this year’s Matthews Lecturer.  The lecture will be held on Friday, November 13th

at 4PM in the Griffith Film Theater in the Bryan Student Union Building on campus.  The lecture will

be immediately followed by an informal reception.  We promise a rather unique format for this very

special lecture that should be both informative and entertaining to all.  Please mark your calendars

and plan to join us for this ‘Afternoon with Bob Gallo’ on November 13th at 4PM.
