Many thanks to the CFAR and Surgical Sciences members who participated
in yesterday's Special Forum on the new NIH review and scoring
criteria. Special thanks to Herman Staats for his insightful
presentation and comments as well as for leading the highly
enlightening discussion. As mentioned at the Forum, we plan one
additional forum to catch up with a number of the interested parties
who had scheduling conflicts. Also, we are planning to invite NIH
Scientific Review Administrators (SRAs) representing several different
NIH Institutes to participate in a half-day workshop at Duke in late
November/early December. Stay tuned for further details. Lastly,
Herman's Powerpoint presentation from yesterday's Forum is attached below.
