Core Support Facilities

The Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Core of the Duke CFAR Core is the primary hub for university-wide scientific consultation on the design and conduct of social and behavioral studies related to HIV infection.

Our MISSION is to support interdisciplinary research on the social and behavioral determinants of HIV-related outcomes, in order to prevent new infections, develop innovative interventions and support the application of treatments, and improve the quality of life of people living with HIV.

We offer a range of scientific services to Duke investigators in order to enhance the conduct of SBS research, including networking, pre and post review, and targeted consultations.

Please let us know how we can help you!

Social and behavioral science research informs the development HIV prevention
efforts, provides the foundation for determining the effectiveness of prevention and
mental health interventions, and is essential for understanding the impact and
implementation of behavioral and biomedical advances in community based settings.
Social and behavioral science is critical for a comprehensive approach to HIV/AIDS
            research.
